Below is the Preface of my new book Bridging Cancer.
Preface
If you are reading this book, you or someone you love has most likely been diagnosed with cancer. Perhaps you only recently got the news or maybe you have been challenged by this situation for some time now. You are probably about as far from joy in your life as you have ever been. The emotional experience you are having could range anywhere from fear, despair, powerlessness, and hopelessness to rage, discouragement, worry and overwhelment.
This is an understandable reaction especially since you may not know the truth about what has manifested itself in your physical body. Cancer is not a diagnosis, it is a symptom. It is a very real and palpable gauge of what is going on inside of the thoughts, emotions and a less known and understood part of you called the light body or energetic field.
Mainstream medicine is trained to manage symptoms, not necessarily to cure conditions. They only focus on the physical manifestation, and not usually the root of the manifestation. That is why, oftentimes, even if they are able to arrest the current condition and “get it all” so to speak, it will eventually recur. There are times when the doctors will refer to environmental factors or perhaps diet as the “root” of the problem, and these things can play a role in the overall picture but are never the sole basis for the dis-ease being experienced by the physical body.
This program is designed to give you an understanding of all of the levels of manifestation and how you can begin to move from the helpless, hopeless state in which you may currently find yourself to one of hopefulness and expectation as you learn how to take control of your body and its state of health and wellbeing.
I would like to welcome you to join me on a journey of self discovery. This is a journey whose desired end result is happiness and wholeness. Although you may share a common destination or common “desired” destination with many others who are experiencing the same symptoms in their bodies right now, your journey, your adventure will be unique and different from anyone else’s. This is true because although we all share a certain amount of commonality, we are each unique, and what “unwinds” the profound truth for me may be quite different from what does it for you.
When I think of a journey, I always think of moving from one place to another. When I think of an adventure, it is usually in a more positive light than you may currently find yourself, but I mostly think of doing something I haven’t necessarily experienced before. It will have some unknowns which could make it scary, but experiencing those unknowns and bringing them into your own personal light, is the exciting part. The thought of an adventure can be exciting and I would invite you now to perhaps begin to allow yourself to feel a little less hopeless and scared and to feel at least a little bit of a sense of hope and perhaps tentative excitement as we embark.
Allow yourself to believe that there could be an answer, a way out that the Doctors haven’t shared with you. Not because they want to purposefully keep it from you, but rather because they are not aware of it. It is not the focus of their training. They are trained to look at manifestations and formulate a plan to cut them out or do battle with them on a pharmaceutical level. They are not, in their purely scientific arena of training, taught about the workings of the other parts of who you are. We will talk more about this concept a little later on in this book.
We will move slowly along this path so that you can absorb and digest the information you find here. The basis for this program is not opinion; it is verifiable scientific fact that can bring you to a place that you can effect the changes necessary in your internal physical environment to nurture a state of health and wellbeing. You can achieve a state of joy along the way that is greater than any you have ever experienced before.
Let’s compare our upcoming journey to let’s say a camping trip, everything that you have experienced so far is just like getting ready for the trip”
(I hate camping)
But, unlike camping (for me anyway) what comes next can be the enjoyable part of this Journey. Yes I said enjoyable. This is where I may lose some of you because you will think I am nuts to tell you that what you consider the fight of your life could be enjoyable. But if you stick with me for a moment, I promise you, on the other side; you will look back on this journey as the greatest of your life to date.
This is true because next comes finding that part of yourself that you have always quietly (and sometimes not even known to yourself) been looking for. Next comes crossing the bridge and emerging from Cancer, more whole than you ever dreamed possible. You will be more whole and happy than you have ever experienced, even before a doctor gave you the news.
So, if you are one of the brave ones who has chosen to keep reading, you may ask “How Do We Begin the Journey?”
I am so very glad you asked. First of all we need a destination. I believe your initial destination may be to be cancer free for the remainder of your life. And that sounds like a winner. But, you will find that “cancer free” will simply be a checkpoint along the way. Second, we need to know a few facts about your on-board navigation system. In this case, that will be your Emotional Guidance System. It is so very efficient at telling us exactly where we are in relation to where we want to be. This will be explained in great detail a little later in the book as well. Finally, we need a MAP for backup. Our MAP will actually be in the form of a daily practice that we will do to keep ourselves pointed in the right direction. We will be measuring against the Emotional Guidance System for accuracy.
Let’s start at the beginning . . .
